Welcome to my January Newsletter.
Welcome to my January Newsletter.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, WISHING YOU ALL THE VERY BEST FOR 2026.
I hope that you had a wonderful time over the Christmas period. Even though it was very busy for me in the lead up to Christmas with all my extra markets, I had a great time over Christmas as my daughter and her partner were able to come up from Melbourne for a few days. It was also extra special as Lexi’s birthday is on the 27th December, so we were able to celebrate her birthday as well, which was great fun. It certainly helped that the weather stayed nice and fine, thought I was very grateful that the temperature reduced by about 10⁰C, which made everything so much more pleasant. I know that at the Laurieton market when it hit 38 C, I thought that I would melt….I had hoped to do the Twilight market at Taree as well, but there was no way that I could have coped with that as well. I take my hat off to any of the stall holders who were able to do both markets that day!!
Now we are on our way to a New Year. I feel that there is sometimes a twinge of uncertainty as well as the thrill of what is to come. One of the best ways, I believe, to face what is ahead of us, is to ensure that we are in the best health possible. Good health is definitely a blessing and makes any other challenges we may encounter, so much easier to deal with. This is why my article this month is on ways that turmeric can help with us in our quest for the best health possible. I don’t like to think where I would be if my friend and naturopath, Denise, hadn’t introduced me to turmeric 10 years ago. I really do feel that it has made a tremendous difference in my life and I know that there are hundreds of my other customers who feel the same.
My recipe this month is one of my all time favourite ways to take turmeric. When I first started we only had the powder, and, as at the time my body was so acidic, I found it challenging to take. One of my wonderful stockists, Jonas’ created this Bliss Ball and I was so delighted with them that I asked him if I could steal the recipe for my customers and he very kindly said “yes”. So, you can now also benefit from his creative expertise. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

8 Reasons to Spice Up Your New Year with Turmeric for Better Health
As we step into the New Year, it’s time to consider simple yet impactful changes for a healthier you. One such change involves adding turmeric to your diet. Beyond its delicious role in cooking, turmeric is a powerhouse of health benefits, thanks to its active compound, curcumin. In this article, we’ll explore 10 reasons why you should embrace the goodness of turmeric for optimal health in the coming year.
Natural Anti-Inflammatory
Curcumin acts as a natural anti-inflammatory agent.
It has the potential to combat chronic inflammation linked to many health conditions.
Boosting antioxidant power
Curcumin’s potent antioxidants fight the oxidative damage associated with aging and disease.
Brain Health Boost
Curcumin can boost the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is crucial for memory and learning.
Studies hint at its potential to delay or reverse brain diseases and age-related declines, with more investigation needed for memory and attention benefits.
Heart Health Support
Research suggests curcumin may protect against steps in heart disease development. Improving the lining of blood vessels and its anti-inflammatory properties contribute to heart health.
Alzheimer’s Assistance
Curcumin addresses inflammation and oxidative damage linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Early research suggests it may help clear protein tangles associated with Alzheimer’s.
Arthritis Relief
Curcumin shows efficacy in relieving pain in osteoarthritis, comparable to common anti-inflammatory drugs, with positive results in reducing inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, though more research is needed.
Mood Enhancement
Curcumin shows promise in treating mood disorders by positively affecting neurotransmitters. Boosting BDNF levels and promoting brain plasticity contribute to potential antidepressant effects.
Anti-Aging Marvel
Curcumin’s potential to prevent heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s suggests anti-ageing benefits.
By targeting oxidation and inflammation, it may positively influence aging processes.
Incorporating turmeric into your daily diet or opting for high-quality curcumin extracts such as the Health2all turmeric can be a simple yet effective step towards a healthier and more vibrant life in the New Year. As ongoing research continues to uncover the depth of turmeric’s health benefits, making turmeric a part of your daily routine could be a proactive choice for optimal turmeric health.
Jonas’s Turmeric Bliss Balls

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Pepitas
1 cup Almonds*
10 Medijool Dates
1 cup Currents/sultanas
1⅓ cups Cacao (cocoa powder is fine, but use a good one, preferably unsweetened)
2tbsp Honey
3 tbsp Coconut oil
1 tsp Vanilla essence
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp Health2all Turmeric
Extra fine desiccated coconut and Health2all Turmeric to roll the balls in.
* You could use other nuts such as cashews, peanuts, walnuts – or even a mix of different nuts, whatever you fancy really. 2 bliss balls (golf ball sized) = 1 daily serve of Health2allTurmeric.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Blitz the pepitas and almonds in a blender until roughly chopped, put into a mixing bowl.
Add the cacao, Health2all Turmeric and salt, stir thoroughly.
Put the pitted dates and currents/sultans into blender and give a quick blitz to mix. Add to the mixing bowl. If you are using dried dates, add a few extra and soak in warm water first.
Melt the coconut oil and honey, then add the vanilla. Add to the rest of the ingredients and stir through thoroughly.
Using your hands form into small balls. (Note: if you don’t want yellow nails like I got, wear disposable gloves!!) I made 12 golf ball sized bliss balls. However, the size depends on how decadent you’re feeling! Making the bites smaller is great for quick nibbles.
Roll in the desiccated coconut and Health2all Turmeric mix, to cover. If the coconut mix won’t stick use a little coconut oil on the balls.
Enjoy. Don’t expect them to last long as they will get eaten, they are very rich and morish. If you have any left, they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
Thought: If you used chocolate flavoured protein powder instead of the cacao, 2 Turmeric bliss balls would make a great alternative to breakfast, or as an energy snack.
Recipe: With thanks to Jonas from Organic Belly, Port Macquarie.
Enjoy. 😊
