The Turmeric and Health Newsletter for September 2026
Welcome to my September Newsletter.
So, September is HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, in two respects. Yes, it’s my real birthday month, but it’s also a Happy Birthday to my turmeric business as well. The Turmeric Lady will be 10 years old this month. I have to say that when I started out on this journey, I never imagined that I would still be going from strength to strength in 10 years, and now that I’ve been going that long, I can’t imagine giving up. I know that at some point I will have to go off gently into the sunset, but the way I feel currently, and with the backing of my wonderful turmeric family I can see me going for at least another 10 years. By then I will be over 80, so maybe I will have to start slowing down a bit, but you never know, turmeric is a wonderful product, and it’s kept me going so far!! 😊 😊
To celebrate 10 years of The Turmeric Lady, I will be giving 10 people 10% off their next order. Whether you buy online, via a phone call or at the market, I will save all the contacts and at the end of the month I will get a friend to randomly pull 10 names out of the hat and I will send out a credit for the following order. If I can get the techy hat on, I will even do a video of the event, though I may have to call in my techy guru, also known as Mike, my son. Ha, ha, ha..
Whilst I think about it, thank you to everyone who gave me advice on how to rid myself, or more to the point, my Brussel Sprouts, from the dreaded scourge of the green caterpillar. The consensus is that the easiest and most effective method it to regularly check the Brussels and squish the blighters. So that’s what I’m doing!
You will notice that I have some double ups this month, that’s because the wonderful Nan and her handsome assistant Graham, will be back under the orange gazebo selling the turmeric for me. So, do please go along and say Hello. Nan will be collecting the names as well for the 10% promo for September.
TURMERIC COMPOUND MAY PROTECT BLOOD VESSELS FROM DIABETES DAMAGE

Curcumin, the natural compound responsible for turmeric's vivid yellow colour, has been widely studied for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. New research in rats suggests it may also help protect blood vessels from damage linked to diabetes.
"Curcumin acts as more than a simple compound found in a spice or an antioxidant. It not only helps to improve blood sugar levels but also reduces inflammation, restores cellular responses, and preserves both structure and function of the aorta in Type 1 diabetes," said the study's first author, Swasti Rastogi, a PhD candidate at Florida Institute of Technology.
The research focused on Type 1 diabetes, a lifelong autoimmune disease that affects about 150 thousand people in Australia and about 9.5 million worldwide. Although insulin therapy is essential for managing the condition, people with Type 1 diabetes can still develop heart disease at an earlier age because persistently high blood sugar can damage blood vessels.
The researchers found that curcumin treatment appeared to reduce inflammation and restore more normal calcium activity in blood vessels. It also helped rebalance heat shock protein 70, an important protein whose regulation is disrupted by diabetes.
Together, these effects suggest that curcumin may help limit the structural and functional changes that gradually weaken blood vessels and reduce their elasticity. By helping blood vessels maintain healthier function, curcumin could potentially lower some of the cardiovascular risks associated with diabetes.
Researchers caution that these results do not mean people with Type 1 diabetes should simply consume more turmeric or begin taking curcumin supplements, though taking your Health2all turmeric, may offer you an added help.
Because the study was conducted in rats, additional research and clinical trials will be necessary to determine whether the same benefits occur in people. Scientists would also need to establish an appropriate dose that provides benefits safely while minimizing the risk of harmful interactions with other medications. It is important to consult your doctor before taking any supplements.
